WHAT ARE WE LEARNING?

Reading

Students will learn how to ask and answer questions to demonstrate understanding referring to the text. Additionally, students will learn to recount events and infer characters' traits, motivation and lessons.

Students should practice independent reading daily for 30 minutes. Students may access their online MyON accounts at home as well. Reading logs must be completed daily between home and school. Parents please check that your child has read, and sign the reading log.

Math

Students just completed the Unit 3 on Multiplication. During the next few weeks, our math class will be learning more about the relation of the multiplication and division. We will learn how to divide with the factors 0, 1, 2, 5,8 and 9. Students also will learn the properties of division . Moreover, students will solve word problems involving multiplication and division. You can expect to see homework that provides practice with division. We encourage consistent practice with math facts.

Writing

Students will learn to write an informative/ explanatory text. They will write about a topic providing facts to support the topic. Moreover they will include illustration, definitions and a conclusion.

Social Studies

Students will learn about the geography, climate, economy and culture of countries.
